Best Places to Visit in England: Brighton



Do you want to visit the real England and not just overcrowded, super touristy London?

Brighton is England´s LGBTQ capital, and is a vibrant city with so much to offer.

1.     Brighton Pier

A must see in Brighton. Yes it´s overcrowded, yes it´s super touristy but did you even go to Brighton if you didn´t go to the pier?!

2.     Royal Pavilion

The Royal pavilion is an exotic palace, built as a pleasure palace for King George IV. It stands out due to its architectural style, influenced by both Indian and Chinese architecture.

3.     Old Police Cells

Located underneath Brighton’s town hall you will find these old police cells. Over the years they have hosted many criminals, and have been the scene of notorious murders.

4.     British Airways i360

What better way to see Brighton than climbing the British Airways i360. The tower offers 360 degree views over Brighton.

5.     Brighton Sewer Tours

For an alternative view of Brighton, why not go on a Brighton Sewer Tour (if you can stand the smell!). This unique tour takes you through the old Victorian sewers of Brighton.

6.     GLOBALLS

If you like mini golf this is the place to go. Not only is it a great mini golf course, but everything is painted with ultra violet paint and then lit up creating a psychedelic effect.

7.     Choccywoccydoodah

If you love chocolate I´d recommend a trip to Choccywoccydoodah. This wacky chocolate shop features chocolate sculptures and a cafĂ© in which everything on the menu contains chocolate.

8.     Museum of Mechanical Memories

If you want to avoid the busy arcades on the Brighton Pier, I would recommend heading to the Museum of Mechanical Memories for a cheaper, more traditional experience. Here you will find an old-time penny arcade hidden under a little arch along the main seafront promenade.

9.     Secret Tunnel Beneath the Pavilion

Experience a 45 minute tour of the secret tunnels hidden underneath the Pavilion. Originally used by the king to visit his horses in the stables without  being spotted by the prying eyes of the public.

10.                       The Waste House

Ever wanted to see what a house would look like only made of recycled, thrown away or found items? Well now you can! Built on the campus of the University of Brighton, you will find this structure only made of waste items.

11.                       Ragroof Theatre Tea Dances

If you´re into Jazz music and dancing this is the place for you. The Ragroof Theatre Tea Dances are events held regularly on Sundays where you can have tea and then dance with the members to lively Jazz music.

12.                       The World's End Arcade Bar

With retro games consoles, table tennis and loads of regular VR experiences the World´s End is a utopia for gamers.

13.                       BK Kayaking

For water sports enthusiasts, why not try sea kayaking? With BK kayaking, they´ll teach you how to take on the waves of the sea in a kayak.
